I've updated my hot picks (see to the right ->).
Little Boots and La Roux are rising UK stars, La Roux is currently the UK number 2 with her single 'In For The Kill'. I would reccomend both of these artists as they have both got a unique style and great vocal skills.

Kris Allen
While not a lesser known talent I thought I'd give this guy a shoutout. He won American Idol on Wednesday but the backlash has already started: "Adam should have won". Personally, Allison Iraheta was my favourite with Kris a close second so I'm pretty glad he won. Though in the end I really didn't care as all the Top 5 were amazingly talented.
Anyway, Kris' coronation song 'No Boundaries' is currently number two on the US iTunes (click the picture to be taken to the store to buy it :D), joined by 2 of his AI performances 'Ain't No Sunshine' at number 10 and 'Heartless' at number 4.
Good luck to Kris, I hope he does well.

More Diana Vickers
Diana did a cover of Take That's 'Patience' on top 6 night, and I adore her version (I actually prefer it to the original). Here it is:

Diana Vickers
To say I love Diana Vickers would be an understatement. She was a contestant on X-Factor 2008 (the UK's biggest reality TV singing competition) and made the show a MASSIVE success that year. She delievered some breath-taking covers of 'Hallelujah', 'Man In The Mirror' (Michael Jackson), 'With Or Without You' (U2), 'Call Me' (Blondie) and 'Patience' (Take That). She was an early favourite to win until she fell ill and had to miss a week; since that point her confidence deteriorated and the backlash from the press was pretty nasty.
Anyway, she came fourth, just missing out on the final which, in my opinion, was a travesty (X-Factor has a 3 person final, not a 2 person like AI). She came back full force on her last week, belting out 'Girlfriend' by Avril Lavigne and Dido's 'White Flag' but it was a case of too little too late. Regardless she scored a record deal with RCA and is now working on her debut.
Below are links to mp3's of a few of her live performances, my favourite is Man In The Mirror, leave comments and tell me what you think. Her voice is untamed but I think that's what I like about it - completely raw talent. Hopefully they won't autotune her to death on her album...
She has about 5/6 more, but these 3 are her best in my opinion. Comment if you want me to post the rest. :D

Little Boots
Not only is she tipped to be the biggest Pop act of 2009, she also won the BBC's Sound Of 2009. Little Boots is a self confessed pop act and I really like the songs she's released so far. Her first physical release (she has released 2 singles, Stuck On Repeat and Mathematics as digital releases) is called New In Town:
It's a grower, trust me. I was disapointed at first as it was the first track I thought was just okay but now I have it on repeat and flying to the top of my iTunes top played!! Anyway, her album is due to drop June 6th, and is called Hands. I am so excited for it, the cover is below.

Kate Voegele
Kate Voegele is an artist who I have liked for a while now, a lot of people know her from her cover of Hallelujah which is really, really good. She released her Sophomore album today, called A Fine Mess and I REALLY like it.

You can download the album at Jonwire (link is below) but it's really important that we support her, she doesn't get half the credit she deserves. So if you download and enjoy it then go out and buy it. I hope she releases it here (in England), but if she doesn't I'll order it from Amazon.com.
My favourite song is: Who You Are Without Me (track 3, I think). Let me know what you think! :D
